Criteria:
Female student, minimum 85.0 average, RI resident, accepted to a college/university, financial need.
Preference will be given to highly motivated, ambitious and socially conscious women.

-RI resident and high school senior
-Parents did not graduate from college

• The Classical High School Theater Company Presents: Don’t Drink the Water by: Woody Allen. Show times are Friday, May 4th@7pm, Saturday, May 5th@7pm and Sunday, May 6th at 2pm. All performances are in the Classical High Auditorium. Admission is $5.00 for students and $7.00 for adults. Please come out and support our theater company.
• Please be reminded that out Advanced Placement testing begins next week. Please have your students report to Classical by 7:45am if they have a morning exam. Also, students will not be dismissed early once they finish. Good Luck to all our kids taking AP exams!! A full schedule of exams and times has been posted on our website here.
• Thanks to the Alumni Association for their generous donation. Their Distinguished Alumni dinner held last week was a big hit! Thanks again to the Alumni Association and Board for supporting us.

 Extended time students must notify Mr. Toro that they will take the exams using extended time by April 1, 2012.

 Students will not be dismissed from exams early.  AP exams have strict rules for test administration.  Any afternoon appointments/athletic events will have to be rescheduled as proctors ARE NOT ALLOWED to dismiss any student early!!

 EXTENDED TIME (TENTATIVE) AM: 7:45 – 1:00    PM: 1:30-6:30.      Students must bring their own lunch.

Some notes…..

• I would like to thank all parents, community partners, teachers and most of all our students with all their help and assistance with March’s NEASC visit. The opening ceremony and subsequent visit went well and I expect the final report to be delivered by the summer. Like all high schools, there will be recommendations and commendations for sure. When they are presented I will share with all the stakeholders. The self study has been a long but productive process; it forced us to look at all programming, courses, teaching methodology, school climate and physical plant issues. Thanks to all who helped out including Chairman Joel Stembridge and his visiting committee for all the hard work they put in during their visit.
• Our spring sports are off to a great start; come on out and support our teams. What a great way to spend a nice spring afternoon; cheering one of our Purple Teams to victory.
• I love to walk around campus at about 3:30; watch a girl’s lacrosse contest, stop at a tennis match, catch a 4 o’clock girl’s softball game and stop upstairs in the gym to check in with the boy’s volleyball team. Let’s not forget our boy’s baseball team over at Davis Park; they are off to a great start too. Keep an eye out for the Classical Classic a premier outdoor track event that is sponsored and organized by Coach Palazzo and his staff.
• Please check our end of year calendar; it is completely filled with activities, testing and end of year programming.
• It is testing time; Advanced Placement Testing, SAT’s, Science NECAP’s and ACT’s are all being offered in addition to our final exam schedule. Please make sure your/our students are sleeping and eating well. Try to be mindful that he or she may be stressed a bit as well and that you and the school are there to support them. Please feel free to call me or drop me an email with your concerns; life is too short and our kid’s mental health is most important to us.
• Don’t forget to encourage your child to attend tutorial sessions; they will run until early June. Tutoring is offered 4 days per week.
• Enjoy the nice weather and have a restful break.
